Kpn I

Restriction enzymes are essential tools in molecular biology because each recognizes a unique DNA sequence and precisely cuts the double-stranded DNA molecule into smaller, distinct fragments. Kpn I is a Restriction Endonuclease purified from an Klebseilla pneumonia strain that carries the Kpn I gene. The restriction enzyme Kpn I recognizes the DNA sequence G G T A C^C and optimally cleaves the DNA at 37°C when used with 10X Assay Buffer. Kpn I is an endonuclease that creates cohesive ends with a 3' overhang to facilitate DNA Digestion. This Restriction Enzyme targets GGTACC Site Cleavage for use in Recombinant DNA Vector Construction and directed molecular cloning procedures.
